TINNED MAN

*** Special announcement, to all my friends from facebook: My login will no longer work so I have no access to Facebook. Therefore, I will no longer be posting there. If you find me and want to communicate, you will need to email me. Sorry!
Finished this guy last night. Hope he will be received well at the Philly show this month.

All the "metal' is sculpted polymer clay. The costume is silk with an applied trim and leather belt. His boot is leather as well. I will post images of the lion when he is completed. Hope to get on the Scarecrow this weekend.

Thanks for looking, have a great day!

  6. I second the request for a tutorial on furring. Also, nice interpretation of Steampunk/Dieselpunk.

And just FYI, you can just write to Facebook and ask for a re-set.

  8. WOW, Mark, WOW! The lion is superb! I, too, would love to see a tut on applying fur like this. As for the tin man? He's so completely amazing! I wish I could get inside your brain and pick apart what I could even if only for a minute! This is one of the most totally awesome sculpts I've ever seen! You are going to blow away that show in Philly! Wish I could go so I could see this and would love it even better to be lucky enough to be the proud owner of such a super duper piece of art! :) I applaud you!

  9. Mark, of course the tin man is fantastic, but I really love the face of the lion. Can't wait to see where you are going. I was introduced to your work from Jack when I did his week long class at his house in SLC, and you have done some great work, but, to me, this might be some of your best. If that's possible. Anyway just my thoughts. Can't wait to see this whole line up.

  11. Mark - ASTOUNDING sculpts! I too love the steampunk effect for Tin Man. For a beginning sculptor like myself, they are awesomely inspiring and humbling at the same time! ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS WORK!!!!
