Nymph (legs/feet)

At last! Today we finished the sculpting stage of this piece by adding the legs and final details on the nymph.
The lower leg and foot are sculpted as one piece. A ball of conditioned clay is rolled into a long tapering cone.
The rough shape of the foot is added.
The foot is about the same length as the face.
Toes are added one at a time and then the finished foot is shaped from the toes back and up the leg. A quill is forced down the leg to make a pilot hole for the armature.
The leg slides onto the armature and is seamed at the knee.
All folds and creases are added.

The finished piece.

Just a little teaser here. Decided to do a gnome next so we can play with clothing and old faces (also need a break from the "beautiful people"). Have a great day!
